WebStore - ArcGIS Online Feature Storage Limit
Individual hosted feature content that is larger than 100 mb in size is now limited to a 1-month storage period before it is automatically removed.
In the past WebStore did not maintain a limit to the UI ArcGIS Online Feature Data Store but due to its increasing size, it is now necessary to maintain a policy for individual hosted content. Hosted Feature content that is larger than 100 mb in size is now limited to a 1-month storage period before it is automatically removed. This policy will most often apply to Hosted Feature Layers and Hosted Tile Layers that are stored in the user's AGOL account.
Tips for managing and minimizing the size of your hosted Feature content in ArcGIS Online
- In the future, if you do not need to create a hosted Feature Layer when you upload new content, please choose the option to add the file only, NOT the option to create a hosted feature layer.
- If you are working with large datasets, in ArcGIS Pro you can utilize the Clip (features) tool to create a smaller subset of your data. This involves clipping the data based on the boundaries of the area of interest. Afterward, you can proceed to publish the clipped data to reduce feature storage.
- You also have the option to store data in File Geodatabase format on your local machines and upload only the necessary data to ArcGIS Online. You may refer to this documentation on some best practices to reduce file size before publishing from ArcGIS Pro.
- Feature layer settings in ArcGIS Online, such as Enable Sync and Keep track of created and updated features, may result in an increase in storage size over time.
