iSchool Rooms: Conference Room 5043 (5th Floor MPR)

Conference Room 5043 (5th Floor MPR) is a meeting space located on the 5th floor of 614 E. Daniel St. It is available for reservation by University of Illinois faculty, staff, and RSOs generally, and by iSchool postdocs and PhD students specifically. Room Technology Documentation

Please Note: This room does not have a built-in computer or built-in meeting capabilities (no room speakers, cameras, or microphones). It only supports connecting a device's screen and audio to the 3 wall-mounted TV displays. To connect a device to the displays: 

  1. Turn on the televisions using the red power button on the remote control.
    • If the remote won't turn them on, you may need to manually turn on each TV by pressing its power button.
    • Please inform the Help Desk if the remote is missing. 
  2. Find the HDMI/USB-C cable connected to the wall in the front corner of the room between two of the TV displays. 
  3. Connect either the HDMI cable or the attached USB-C adapter (dongle) to your laptop.

Troubleshooting Tips

If the TV displays are not projecting your device's screen, try the following:

  • Make sure the TV display is turned on.
  • Press the Source button on the remote control and select the device from the list of available sources on the television (It will typically be listed as HDMI 2).
  • Unplug the HDMI cable from the laptop and plug it back in.
  • If the television says "detecting device", you can skip this process by clicking the back/return button on the remote. You can skip any setup instructions that display on the television.
