Map a Network Drive on macOS

Use the following instructions to map a network drive to your Apple computer

Mapping Network Drives on Mac:

    1. Open Finder
    2. Select Go from the top menu bar
    3. Select Connect to Server...
    4. Provide the server address: smb://server-name/share
    5. Hit the + to save the address to the list of servers

    Connecting to Servers Automatically:

    1. Open System Settings
    2. In the sidebar, select General, then choose Login Items & Extensions
    3. Under Open at Login, click the + button
    4. In the Finder window that appears, locate and select the desired server or network folder
    5. Click Open to add it to your Login Items list

    Important Notes:

    • Servers and network drives will only connect automatically only when connected to IllinoisNet or the campus wired network
    • Drives will reconnect after logging into your account or after restarting the computer
    • Drives will not automatically reconnect if the computer is only waking from sleep
