System Government Costing - Service Activity Advanced Certification Course
Service Activity Advanced (SAA) is a multi-session, cohort-based, instructor-led certification course offered by System Government Costing. This course is divided into four sessions and builds on the concepts in the prerequisite Service Activity Basics (SAB) certification course. It guides participants through performing compliant service and storeroom rate calculations. It is the second and final course in the Service Activities certification track. You will be amazed at how much easier rate calculations can be!
Requirement for Establishing a 3E Self-Supporting Fund
In addition to being beneficial for everyone, both the Financial Manager and the Rate Calculation Contact must complete the Service Activity Basics certification course prior to establishing a new 3E self-supporting fund. Additionally, the Rate Calculation Contact must complete the Service Activity Advanced certification course within six months of fund creation.
What You Will Learn
In this training, you will learn how to develop compliant service activity rates through a step-by-step walk-through of the entire rate calculation process utilizing templates, reports, and job aids.
Lesson Topics Include:
- Managing 3E Funds
- Internal/External Customers
- Revenue & Usage Base
- Adjustments, Projections, and Allocation Methods
- Expenditures, Salaries, and Equipment Depreciation
- Over/Under Recovery
- Other topics such as Subsidies and Markup Rate Structures
Outside of class participants should expect to spend approximately one hour per week on homework examples and exams. Participants should have two monitors and moderate proficiency in Excel. Please make sure you can attend all four sessions before applying.
