This document is a start page for other Knowledge articles relating to the University of Illinois Regulated Research Enclave (RRE).

Connecting to the RRE (Enclave)

The Enclave supports only one connection mechanism: remote access through VDI. You must have a VDI allocation to use this.

If you do not have an allocation, and would like to request one, go to the VDI Request Form.

If you already have an allocation and want to connect to it, go to Regulated Research, How to Connect to a Virtual Machine in the Regulated Research Enclave.

Interacting with your Virtual Machine

For a list of software available on your machine by default, and by request, please see Regulated Research, list of provided software.

To install any "available" apps that are not installed by default, follow Regulated Research, How to Install Applications on a Regulated Research VM from Company Portal.

To install and activate Globus on your Virtual Machine, go to Regulated Research, Installing and Activating Globus for a Virtual Machine.

If you will be using Adobe applications and need to establish your license on your VM, please see Regulated Research, How to Authenticate and Activate Adobe Applications in the Enclave.
