Teams, Contact Center, TPAssist not detected error

This document details an error message in TouchPoint when a user attempts to call out to a contact or external phone number and how to resolve it.

Enghouse Interactive TouchPoint allows agents to search for contacts and call them or enter any external phone number into the contacts search field and dial out.

An error can occur when dialing out of the TouchPoint application where the call will ring the agent in Teams and they must accept the Teams call notification before the call will ring through to the other party.

This error can be mitigated by installing an additional piece of software called TPAssist. This software allows the application to place the call without the need to accept the Teams popup. To get access to the TPAssist software add-on, please send an email to contactcenter@illinois.edu providing your name, NetID, department, and a description of your issue.

Note: You may need assistance from your local IT support to install software packages if you do not have local administrator rights on your device.
