How to delete media
- Navigate to your 'My Media' page. You will see your media arranged in a list. On the right side of the page, each entry will have a garbage can icon 'Delete' button. Click this to permanently delete the media.
You will also find a delete button on any of page where you can view media that you own. It will be below the video on the right, in the 'Actions' drop-down menu. - You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete this piece of media. If you are sure you want to delete it, click 'Delete' otherwise click 'Cancel'.
- Your request will process and that media item will be moved to your recycle bin permanently deleted from Illinois Media Space. After thirty days it will be permanently deleted from Kaltura and will not be recoverable.
Adding to the recycle bin
Any time you delete an entry, it will be transferred to your recycle bin. This affords you time to correct an accidental deletion. However, unlike the recycle bin or the trash in most operating systems, deleted entries will be deleted permanently after thirty days.
Accessing your recycle bin
You will find a link to the recycle bin in the menu under your name when you log into mediaspace.

Recovering items from your Recycle Bin
Next to the entry in your recycle bin, you will see a small icon with a tool tip "Restore." This will move the entry back to your My Media. There is also a button to immediately delete the entry forever. If you check the boxes to the left of entries, you can do either of these actions in a batch. You also have the option to "Empty Recycle Bin," permanently deleting everything therein.

Can I recover media after it disappears from my Recycle Bin?
No. After thirty days in your recycle bin, media is deleted permanently. We can cannot recover items at this point, or extend the time items can remain beyond thirty days.
