Teams, Changing a recorded greeting on an Auto Attendant or Call Queue

This page describes how to change a recorded greeting on a Teams Auto Attendant or Call Queue

To change any recorded message on a Teams Auto Attendant (AA) or Call Queue (CQ), including a welcome greeting, after-hours message, holiday message, and interactive voice response message, a Pinnacle Department Manager can submit a request to consult@illinois.edu with the response group name and phone number and the desired message in one of the following formats:

Option 1

A pre-recorded .wav file of the message to be used. All .wav files must meet the following requirements:

  • 8-bit or 16-bit file
  • Linear pulse code modulation (LPCM), A-Law, or mu-Law format
  • Mono or stereo
  • File Size Must be less than 5 MB.

For the best performance of .wav files, a 16 kHz, mono, 16-bit .wav file is recommended.

NOTE: The VOIP Team does NOT keep copies of recordings. If you plan on changing a recording for a short time, please let the team know when submitting your change request. Ask for a copy of the current recording in your request if you would like to have the recording for future use.

Option 2

The text of the message to be used, to be read by a computer voice.
