What is the Illinois App?

It is a digital companion for users to connect with campus experience, services and events. The app is available through the Play or App store. The app features information about campus events, Illini sports, and provides connections to academic resources, wayfinding and other campus services. .

What is Rokwire?

Rokwire is an open source mobile software platform developed by the Smart, Healthy Communities Initiative, an interdisciplinary initiative based at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Members of this initiative are specialists in science and computing, design, and the humanities. The Rokwire project is  working to realize the promise of the information age: Not just better tools, but a better world.

Products

On the Rokwire platform a collection of data handling services can be deployed through a variety of interfaces on mobile devices. The predominant mobile app in use at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus is the Illinois app. Other apps built on Rokwire include: Safer Illinois, Safer Communities, and other Covid-19 management apps at various universities and organizations.
