Comparison of the assignment types

Some differences exist between the Classic Standard Assignment and the New Standard Assignment, especially with regard to the generated Similarity Reports; the Classic Assignment produces the traditional Similarity Report, whereas the New Assignment type produces an enhanced Similarity Report.

New Standard Assignment

The New Standard Assignment provides an updated interface with improved accessibility, alongside continuous feature updates such as individual student extensions and bulk downloading capabilities for submissions and reports.

Classic Standard Assignment

The Classic Standard Assignment remains required if you intend to use PeerMark assignments, as the new assignment type does not yet support peer reviews.

The chart below presents the differences between the assignment types:

Note: AI writing detection is not available in either assignment type in our instance of Turnitin due to its unreliable generated results.
