We have dev and test forests available for OU administrators wishing to test automated scripts, policies, or other Active Directory-related technologies. Both forests have domain controllers on-prem, in Azure, and in AWS.

The aim is to use the dev forest to test and refine new technologies, while the test forest more closely mirrors the prod environment and is used for final testing prior to production.

Note: Both the dev and test forests may be down or out of service at any time without notice. Neither "addev.uillinois.edu" nor "adtest.uillinois.edu" should be relied on for production purposes. That being said, we intend for the test forest to be more stable.

AD Dev - addev.uillinois.edu (short name: ADDEV)

Administrators can set their password at the AD Dev Password page (need to be connected to campus network). When prompted for authentication, use your regular Active Directory NetID and password.

Note: The people OU in AD Dev is not synchronized on a regular basis, so new users may not yet have access to the dev forest. If your user account has not been provisioned to AD Dev yet, please contact AD Support, and we can perform a manual sync for your account.
