ICS, Lab reservations
How to reserve a lab
ICS classrooms are reserved online with our online reservation system. Due to the high volume of reservation requests we receive every semester, it is not feasible for us to process requests over the phone. Any campus affiliated person can use our system to request a lab as long as they know their NetID and password. If you need to set your NetID password, visit the Identity & Access Management page. ICS classrooms can be reserved for up to 2 hours per section request for reoccurring. If you require a lab for a longer period (a 6 hour conference, for example), you can select the single section type event. There is no limit to the number of sections a class can have, but the section names must be different.

Software
ICS maintains a core set of standard applications for all ICS supported labs. Visit ICS Lab Software for a listing of the software available at all ICS locations. These applications are paid for by ICS and will be supported at a basic level by all Site Consultants. If a University of Illinois academic course needs a software application that is not on our list, that department/college must provide the software, complete with licensing, to ICS for installation.
Licenses must be turned over to Technology Services and may not be used by the department/college while Tech Services has that software application installed. Licenses will be returned to the department/college when the class is completed and the software has been removed from our servers. Class software installed will remain on the servers during the Fall/Spring semesters. Class software may be removed during the summer (unless needed by a class for the summer). A new request for software installations must be made every year. Visit http://go.illinois.edu/ics_software to submit detailed information regarding the software request.
If an application is needed by a small number of classes but will not be part of the supported list, then ICS will work with the individual departments to provide that application. However, ICS will not buy software for individual classes.
Software installations can take two weeks to complete because ICS has to ensure that all software packages installed do not interfere with each other.
