Canvas@Illinois, Creating a registrar-affiliated course copy

This page has tips for creating a registrar-affiliated course space in Canvas.

In order to copy a previous Canvas course into a Canvas course you will need to request a blank Registrar-Affiliated Canvas shell via the Space Request Application (SRA): http://go.illinois.edu/sra.

  1. Once the blank Canvas shell is made, you will navigate to the course and click Import Existing Content on the right.

  3. Next, search and select the course you want to copy in the Search for a course text field. Proceed to select the relevant options, then click Import. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of your course.

You must Publish your course in order for students to have access to it. Learn how to publish your course at the following guide: How Do I Publish a Course?
