What is the Illinois Support Contact App?
The Illinois Contact Support Application is a repository that contains area, unit, and office information, including hours of operation, address and email, websites, and other notes.
This information is used for the UIUC Tech Help Center Help Desk page. It also can be accessed through a common language (JSON) so information can be shared on any website.

What are the terms used in the Illinois Support Contact App?
- Area: A college, campus-level, or system-level unit that consists of one or more offices.
- Office: A department, academic unit, or research unit that lives in an area.
- Administrator: The people responsible for adding and removing areas. The administrator can also grant administrative access to areas and offices and can add offices to areas.
- Area administrator: The people responsible for a specific area. The area administrator can add, edit, and remove offices, grant area administrator access to their area, and can grant office administrator access to offices inside their area.
- Office administrator: The people responsible for a specific office. The office administrator can edit their office, and grant office administrator access to their office.
- Internal area / Internal office: An internal area or internal office is an area or office that does not show up on external data feeds (like TDX). All offices inside an internal area are considered internal.
- Internal order: When multiple offices are pulled in a feed, the internal order determines the order the offices are displayed in.
- Internal code: The internal code of an office or area creates an alternate URL that can be used to pull the office or area.
